By way of background, please read the call for community exhibitions by ArtsPlace https://artsplace.cdn.prismic.io/artsplace/aaXVMVxvIZEnjPuv_CommunityExhibitionCallforSubmissions2027.docx.pdf. In essence, they are seeking community groups to mount an exhibition at ArtsPlace for summer 2027.
We discussed the opportunity at our last meeting and there was unanimous agreement to make an application – due by 01 June. (We are seeking an extension but cannot assume that it will be approved at this point.}
Our overall approach will be similar to that of the Stampede submission. However, we must make an application and be selected by ArtsPlace before proceeding further with this project. We will apply for a full gallery exhibition if there are enough contributors.
So, our immediate focus is preparing our application. I will start drafting the application but your responses should be directed to Patrick who will be the focal point for this initiative – at least until 01 June. For planning purposes, we have adopted the working theme of “Celebrating the Bow Valley”.
So, Patrick NEEDS THE FOLLOWING FROM YOU BY 25 MAY.
1) a response indicating whether you plan to participate. A non-response will be interpreted as “not interested”.
2) Two images of your work that will accompany the application. Please carefully read items nos 6 and 7 of the submission format requirements to ensure that your images are submitted according to the required format and specifications.
With respect to items no 3 and 4, more instructions will be forthcoming regarding individual biographies or statements.
