Changes: Photographs by Colin Ferguson

Consisting of portraits of, and video interviews with, individuals who witnessed Canmore’s metamorphosis from small coal mining town into international tourist destination, ‘Changes’ is a rumination on aspects of “Place” and “Collective Memory”. Conceived as part of the provincial centennial celebrations of 2005, it was originally shown as a multi-media exhibition.

Changes showcases the voices and portraits of the following Canmore community members:

Mary Rodda, Ace and Iris Southwood, Frank Dyrgas, Barb Shellian, Carol Picard, Frank Kernick, Bob Snape, Rachel Boekel, Ron Casey, Gareth Thompson, Joel Christensen, Sara Renner, George Fisher, Carol Nelson,
Ron Marra, Cathy Jones, Walter Riva, Buck Kaleta, Bill Cherak, Brenda Davison, Ada Sampson, Jenny Belik, Lena Shellian, Leon Dyrgas, Ernie Lakusta, Bill Pasemko, Bruce McTrowe, Tony Bloom, Katie Borrowman and Johnny Boychuk.

Artists Colin Ferguson and Joseph Potts will talk about the exhibition and screen the video interviews in the new year. The presentation will be on January 13 at 7:00 PM at Eleveation Place, Room 212.
